Hi Friends!

So just wanted to share a little about me for those of you who don’t know me well. My name is Karina V. Eckert. I live in Pingree Grove, IL. I am a small business owner, wife and mom of two amazing kids.

In the fall of 2018, I realized I had gained a bunch of weight (again) and I weighed the same as when I was pregnant with my son. I say again because I have always struggled with my weight. The turning point was when a massage client asked me when I was due. I realized I did LOOK pregnant! My son was 9 years old at the time, so having just had a baby was not a viable excuse. I also finally realized that I do battle a bit of depression, especially in the winter. This often leads to me sitting on the couch for weeks at a time eating junk food. I needed a change and that’s exactly what I got!

A good friend told me about Beachbody. She had just signed up with this awesome Beachbody family and told me about the amazing shake they offered that would help me gain my energy back and get a focus on my nutrition.

I signed up right away with a VIP membership to save some money and the rest as they say is history! I was very skeptical.

I had never been a ‘fitness’ person and my nutrition for most of my adult life consisted of any fast-food chain I could find and a ton of pop as well. But as I said earlier, I was miserable and needed a change in my life. Within a month of having just one shake a day and working out, I could keep up with my kids without getting out of breath. My nutrition was surprisingly improving as well. I no longer had the ‘craving’ for fast food and to be honest that shake had actually SAVED us money in the long run.

I have lost 36lbs so far, and I am still working on my own wellness journey, BUT what I gained was SO MUCH more than that! I found energy, I learned what clean eating looks and tastes like, gained some muscle, and I am beginning to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin.

Get excited! You can exercise all you want, but truly feeling good inside and out depends on what you put into your mouth. Luckily, a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be boring or yucky. I have found delicious, healthy, clean recipes that the whole family can enjoy. There are easy substitutions you can make to make your favorite meals a little healthier. A healthy lifestyle isn’t about deprivation, it’s about fueling your body with healthy, delicious foods to help you feel and perform your best.
